How a service call works, what the diagnostic fee covers, common repair prices, and when to repair versus replace.
How a service call works
- You call, we take your address and a description of the problem, and give you a two-hour arrival window.
- You get a text with the technician's name and photo when they are on the way.
- The technician diagnoses the problem (30 to 60 minutes) and shows you what they found.
- You get a flat-rate price for the repair before any work starts. Approve it, and the $89 diagnostic fee is applied to the repair.
- Most repairs are finished the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, it usually arrives within one to two business days.
Diagnostic fee
$89 Monday through Saturday 7 AM to 7 PM. $189 evenings, Sundays and holidays. The fee covers the trip and a full diagnosis of the system. It is waived when you approve the recommended repair. Comfort Club members never pay after-hours rates.

Prices include parts, labor and a one-year parts and labor warranty on the repair. Prices are ranges; the technician quotes an exact flat price on site.
Repair or replace?
Our rule of thumb: if the system is over 12 years old and the repair costs more than a third of a new system, replacing usually saves money within five years. A compressor or heat exchanger failure on a system over ten years old almost always means replacement. Technicians are not paid commission on replacements, so the advice you get is the advice we would give a neighbor.
Warranty
All repairs carry a one-year parts and labor warranty. If the same part fails within a year, we replace it at no charge.
