Furnace, AC and heat pump repair

How a service call works, what the diagnostic fee covers, common repair prices, and when to repair versus replace.

How a service call works

  1. You call, we take your address and a description of the problem, and give you a two-hour arrival window.
  2. You get a text with the technician's name and photo when they are on the way.
  3. The technician diagnoses the problem (30 to 60 minutes) and shows you what they found.
  4. You get a flat-rate price for the repair before any work starts. Approve it, and the $89 diagnostic fee is applied to the repair.
  5. Most repairs are finished the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, it usually arrives within one to two business days.

Diagnostic fee

$89 Monday through Saturday 7 AM to 7 PM. $189 evenings, Sundays and holidays. The fee covers the trip and a full diagnosis of the system. It is waived when you approve the recommended repair. Comfort Club members never pay after-hours rates.

Repair or replace?

Our rule of thumb: if the system is over 12 years old and the repair costs more than a third of a new system, replacing usually saves money within five years. A compressor or heat exchanger failure on a system over ten years old almost always means replacement. Technicians are not paid commission on replacements, so the advice you get is the advice we would give a neighbor.

Warranty

All repairs carry a one-year parts and labor warranty. If the same part fails within a year, we replace it at no charge.
