Information for current clients

How to reach your attorney, response times, billing questions, and what to do about court dates.

Reaching your attorney

Every client has a direct line to their attorney's paralegal, who is the fastest route for scheduling, documents and status questions. Calls and emails are returned within one business day; if your attorney is in trial or a deposition, the paralegal will tell you and give you a time. For an urgent matter after hours, call the main number and say it is urgent; the on-call attorney will be paged.

Case status

Clients get an update at every significant event (filing, hearing, settlement offer, discovery deadline) and at least once a month even if nothing has happened. You can also log in to the client portal for documents and upcoming dates; the link is in your engagement email.

Court dates

If you receive anything from the court or the other side, send it to your paralegal the same day. Never miss a court date; if you cannot attend, tell us immediately so we can request a continuance. Arrive 30 minutes early, dress as you would for a job interview, and do not bring children unless the court requires it.

Billing

Hourly clients receive an itemized statement by the 10th of each month. Questions about a bill go to our billing manager at extension 140. We accept check, ACH, and all major credit cards through the portal. Retainer replenishment is requested when the balance falls below $1,000.

Documents

Upload documents through the portal or bring them to the office. Please do not text photos of documents to attorney cell phones.

Confidentiality

Do not discuss your case with anyone other than your attorney and their staff, and do not forward our emails. The attorney-client privilege can be lost if you share our advice with third parties.
